A Day of Meditation

A Day of Meditation
with Ajahn Amaro and the monks of Abhayagiri monastery

9:30am - 4:00pm

"The fundamental nature of the heart is radiant, it is only visiting obscurations that confuse it..."

That all things are natural doesn't mean that all things will bring benefit if they are followed; some attributes of our nature - eg anger, selfishness and greed - tend to create deeper confusion and denser obscuration if we buy into them, others - such as generosity, virtue, balanced attention & wisdom - lead to greater clarity and allow that innate radiance of the heart to shine forth. This day will be an opportunity to investigate these different attributes of the heart and to discover the many blessings that come from its skillful training.

Please bring a dish to share with the monks and everyone at the midday meal.
This is an entirely dana based event and envelopes for both the monastery and for Yomo will be at the studio for donations for those that wish.

Open to everyone but we do advise participants who are not enrolled in the whole program to make sure you pre-register beforehand by calling Yomo with your name and contact information.

Suitable for everyone.
(We have alternatives to sitting on the floor and there will be walking meditation, breaks and instruction suitable for beginners.)
Must be willing to sit at least 30 minutes with these possible modifications.
